Betty Anne SWINEFORD
November 29, 1933 – February 12, 2020
Betty A. Matthews-Young-Heldebrand-Swineford went to be with her heavenly father on Feb 12, 2020 following a decline in her health. She beat cancer in 2009 but lost her recent battle with colon cancer. She was the second child born to John and Mabel Matthews on Nov 29, 1933 in Champagne, IL. She graduated from Urbana High School and Blackwood Business College. She started her adult life as a military wife, which allowed her to travel to many states and she lived in Hawaii.
One of Betty’s passions was her love for people. She volunteered as a “gray lady” in several military hospitals, children’s hospitals, and family service centers. In 2008 she began volunteering at Norman Regional Hospital.
Betty adored her 4 children: daughter Deborah Christie and husband Larry of Houston, son Anthony Heldebrand and wife Angie of Rochester, NY, twin daughters: Cynthia Parcher and Pamela Clark of Norman. Grandchildren: Bryan Purdon and wife Terry of Portland, Kristie Purdon of Houston, Brenda Cook of NY, Charlene Heldebrand of NY, Sean Murphy of Norman, and Johnathan Michael Clark of Norman; great grandchildren: Diamond Heldebrand, Jakub Purdon, Caiden Singleton, Donovan Heldebrand, and one more on the way for grandson Jonathan Clark.
