OBITUARY

Betty June White

March 29, 1926December 20, 2018

Betty June Jester White died quietly while listening to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir 50th Anniversary CD playing in the background. She was born to Clarence “Jack” and Mabel “Peg” Jester in Tulsa, OK. She graduated from Oklahoma A&M in 1947 and married Pat White on 9/04/1948. They moved to Oklahoma City, joining Westminster Presbyterian Church on December 20, 1953. Mom worked for a real estate broker in the early 1960’s before joining the staff at Westminster Presbyterian Church in September 1967. She was the secretary to Rev. Richard Hershberger for over 32 years, until his retirement in 2000. She continued working at the church, fulfilling numerous positions until her 90th birthday when she decided she should retire, but the church convinced her to work at least one day a week, which she did until her death. Her last position was called “The Living Historian.” June leaves a void that will never be filled and a legacy that will live on forever.

June and Pat had three daughters, Jan, Peggy and Patricia, who died soon after birth in 1964. June was also preceded in death by her husband in 2009 and her sister Mary Lou Branson of Ft Worth on March 8th of this year. She is survived by daughter Mellissa “Jan” Enos and husband William “Bill” of Nichols Hills, Grand children Polly Marie Franke and husband Sean of Overland Park, KS, Patrick Enos and partner Lindsey Fay of Golden, Colorado, great-grandchildren William Payton (University of Arkansas), Reid Patrick, Andrew Michael, and Luke James Franke, Emily Jane Enos and Skylar Fay.
