Beverley Mae George

On Friday September 10, 2010 Beverly George left this City to begin her life of living and talking with the Biblical Characters she taught for more than 60 yrs to 4 & 5 year olds at Olivet Baptist Church. Beverly was born on October 31, 1922 in Covington, OK to Ed and Metta Merideth. Beverly graduated Class of 1941 from Central H.S. Upon graduation she went to Washington, D.C. to work for the U.S. Printing Dept. She met and married Lamar George who was stationed in D. C. during World War II. Their union lasted 62 years until his death in 2004. Beverly was employed for 33 years by the OKC Public Schools as an Elementary School Secretary.

Preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. Survived by son Glenn and wife, Judy of Yukon; daughter Karen Burnett and husband Dan of Canyon City, CO.; daughter, Linda Crist and husband Ed of Edmond; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Thelma Marcus and brother Harold Merideth both of OKC.

Services are 2:00, Fri., Sept 17th at Olivet Baptist Church with interment at Resurrection.
