Beverly Stapleton

Visitation will be held at Hahn-Cook Street & Draper in Oklahoma City on December 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. The family will also be receiving guests at Tom and Gayla Stapleton’s residence in Oklahoma City during that time. Funeral service will be held at Hahn-Cook Street & Draper on December 23, 2015 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Hahn-Cook Street & Draper are handling the funeral arrangements.

Beverly was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles K.T. Saffa and Lucille Jabour Saffa on February 4, 1931. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lawton, Oklahoma and attended Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas. Beverly was well regarded as a television personality in Lawton, Oklahoma for 26 years, achieving national recognition for her endeavors. She served in many political and government appointments in her lifetime, including the Governor’s Advisor of Consumer Affairs in the early 1970s. She enjoyed world travel, politics, art, and fashion, and was constantly curious about current affairs and world issues.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille Saffa; and her sister Regina Saffa Newberry.

Beverly is survived by her sister Charlene Saffa Wagner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother Chuck Saffa and wife Sue Ann of Lawton, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Colonel (Ret.) Milton Newberry of McLean, Virginia; daughter Michale Stapleton and Marva Ellard of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter Pati Stapleton and partner John Gillespie of Destin, Florida; son Tom Stapleton and wife Gayla of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter Suzanne S. Simon and husband Floyd, Jr. of Clinton, Oklahoma; grandchildren Shelbi and Jeff Blank, Stephanie Simon, Taylor Stapleton, Floyd III and Corrine Simon, Macey Stapleton, Clinton Simon, Emily Stapleton, and Alexandra Stapleton; great-grandchildren Jeffery Blank, Larkin Simon, Benjamin Blank, and Floyd Simon IV; nieces and nephews Chet and Dianne Newberry Lott, James Newberry, Zac and Rachel Saffa Selmon, and Carlton and Kristen Saffa.
