Binh Tan Truong

He was born on June 20, 1937 in Hoc Mon, Viet Nam, and is the son of Truong Van Nhut and Duong Thi Than. He came to the US as an immigrant with his family. He looked out and searched for ways to get a better future for his children.

He enjoyed meditation, reading, gardening. He will be remembered for his dedication; he taught us to do what is right, respect the elders, and take care of one another. He often said: “Whatever you do, always dedicate positive thoughts and prayers to everyone, sentient beings, and souls, not just to oneself”. He loved to share his knowledge and insight about Buddhist teaching and practicing. He had a sense of humor after the “aha” moment during the conversation.

He passed by natural causes after a brief illness. He would said: Being born, growing old, getting sick, and death is a natural transition, not an ending, but a continuation of the cycle of rebirth based on karma. It is a natural transition to another form.

He is survived by wife Lin My Vuong, daughter, Jenny and her husband, David Nguyen, grandchildren Eric Nguyen, Ervin Nguyen, and Eden Nguyen; daughter, Phong Lin Truong, grandchildren Alex Quan & Julia Quan, and great grandchildren Maliyah Mack; son, Allan Truong and his wife, Katherine Vo, grandchildren Chloe Truong & Connor Truong; son, Calvin Truong and his wife Ashley Tran, grandchildren Emily Truong, Jonathan Truong & Annie Truong.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4th, 2025, at 10:00 am; at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel., Oklahoma City, OK 73159.

o The Buddhist tradition ceremony will be held at 10:00 am-12:00 pm.

o The public visitation will be held from 12:00 pm-6:00 pm

The Cremation ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at 9:00 am at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Penn. Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73159.

The cremation service will be held at 11:00 am at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chanh Phap Buddhist Meditation Temple (Thien Vien Chanh Phap - Bao An Duong).
