

He was born on September 16, 1929, in Bristow, OK, to George and Gladys (Curl) Harshaw.
Bob grew up in Bristow, OK, and graduated from Bristow High School. He was a trumpet player, drum major of the marching band, and leader of a dance band.
After high school, Bob and his younger brother, George, worked as bouncers at Bristow Roller Rink where Bob met Wyona and they began dating.
Bob then started working at a lumber yard in Bristow and was drafted in December 1950. In February 1951, Bob and Wyona were married at the First Baptist Church in Bristow. Of their union, came sons, Robert, born in 1955, Raymond, born in 1957, and Ronald, born in 1965.
When Bob left the service, he worked for his father-in-law, Lester Curl, building homes from scratch. Bob graduated in May 1957 from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy. He went on to work as a trooper for 20 years, eventually retiring from the Department of Public Safety in 2010 after 53 years.
Bob ended his career by taking up golfing. He spent over 50 years building and flying model airplanes. He enjoyed motorcycle riding where he took several trips cross country. He and Wyona were members of a bowling league and also spent many years dancing at the senior center where they traveled around dancing with several different bands. Bob and his family spent a lot of time boating and had an annual tradition of taking a camping trip with family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David, who died at birth; one brother, George Lewis and his wife Ellen.
He is survived by his wife, Wyona; three sons, Robert and his wife, Valarie, Raymond and his wife, Jeana, and Ronald and his wife, Debra; grandchildren, Sarah (Ruben) Velajco, Ryan (Kyndra) Harshaw, Witney Harshaw, Dustin (Taylor) Harshaw, Lyle (Tristina) Harshaw, Jared Harshaw, Ashley (Craig) Daigle, and Caitlin (Stephen) St. Clair; great-grandchildren, Courtnie, Ryder, Khloe, Emberlee, Branson, Blakeley, Michael, Eli, Asher, Shiloh, Raelyn, Graceyn, Aharon, Loden, Levi, Malakhi, Ezekial, Enoch, and a new great-grandbaby on the way.
A funeral service for Bob will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Following the funeral service will be a burial at 11:15 AM at Arlington Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
