Bobbye June (Price, Burroughs) Todd Jan 29, 1925 — Apr 2, 2018

Bobbye J. Todd, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Oklahoma City on April 2, 2018, with her family by her side. Born in Delhi, Oklahoma, Bobbye moved to El Paso, Texas to attend college. She met her first husband, George Burroughs, when they were paired together for dance lessons. They married in El Paso on December 2, 1944. After nearly 23 years of marriage and 16 military assignments throughout Asia and the U.S., George died in a plane crash in Nevada on November 13, 1967. Bobbye and her three children, Doug, Debby and Dawn, returned to Oklahoma to be close to family, and settled into a new civilian life in Elk City. Bobbye moved to Oklahoma City in 1974, where she met her second husband, A.C. Todd. They were married nearly 25 years when A.C. passed away from leukemia in 1998. Bobbye lived a full, active and colorful life, and up until a week before her death, could still run circles around most people half her age! She loved bowling, golf, cooking, gardening, cake decorating, playing Bunco and volunteering at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. She was known for her exceptional storytelling, infectious laugh, sweet smile and love of life. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, known affectionately as GrandBobbye by her grandchildren, Quinn, Philip and Daniel. Bobbye was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sue (Rogers) Price; her father, Oscar Price; her first husband, George Burroughs; her second husband, A.C. Todd; her younger sister, Paula Brock; her grandson, B.J. Todd, and her daughter, Debby Burroughs. She is survived by her sister, Ann Rosenbaum; son, Doug Burroughs and wife Kathleen; daughter, Dawn Burroughs and husband Rodney Bivens; stepdaughter, Vickie Thompson and wife Peggy Spring; stepson, Gary Todd and wife Nancy; granddaughter, Quinn Ouverson and husband Luke; grandsons, Philip and Daniel Burroughs; granddaughter, Megan Thompson; grandsons Justin Todd and Russell Givens; her two “babies” (dogs), Chow and Cheng; her cat, BB; and many other relatives and close friends whom she loved dearly. Bobbye’s family would like to extend their gratitude to BrightStar and Linda Glover who cared for her with compassion and dignity throughout her Alzheimer’s Dementia illness, Caregiver Connection, and Valir Hospice Care who helped her on her final journey home. Bobbye loved her family and friends with all her heart -- she will be missed more than words can convey. A Memorial Service to honor Bobbye’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 7 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, 73116. Her family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bobbye's name to the Alzheimer’s Association, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, or a charity of your choice.
