Bonnie Jean Walker–Stovall was born on February 4th, 1948 to Harry and Ella Belle (Lacy) Moss in St. Louis, Missouri. She passed from this life on February 19th, 2023 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 75.
Bonnie started working for the Midwest City Police Force on September 1st, 1977. She was promoted to Sergeant and then later to Detective, before retiring in November of 2001. She received an award as the Outstanding Police Officer of the Year in 1987, and was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Bonnie had many hobbies, among these were quilting, sewing, gardening, canning and going antique shopping. She was also known to never turn a blind eye to a stray animal. She and her husband Bill had a farm in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. This is where she enjoyed many of her hobbies and time with her husband.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ella Belle Moss; a brother, Marvin Moss, as well as a brother-in-law, Wayne Gerdel.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Stovall, son Howard Daugherty and wife Marina; sister, Margaret Gerdel; brother James “Jim” Moss and wife Lois; and sister-in-law, Jean Moss; granddaughter, Bailey Handley and husband Alex; nieces: Heather Weier and husband Joe, Debra Moss-Jasilaitis, Elizabeth Stone and husband Dennis; nephews: Jeff Moss, John Moss, Jim Moss and wife Christy, Mel Gerdel, Vernon Gerdel, Harry Moss and William Moss, as well as a host of friends.
Bonnie will be missed by all for her kindness and love for everyone, especially her family. She will be remembered for her head-strong and spunky spirit.
A visitation for Bonnie will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
