

Bryan L. Cheatwood, 80, of Choctaw, Oklahoma passed away on December 31, 2021 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John and Wanda (May) Cheatwood on November 21, 1941. Bryan was married to Zula “Karol” Cheatwood on July 1, 1967. Bryan joined the United States Army on February 22, 1964 where he served for two years. He specialized in office work and was deployed to Germany. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma (Formally, Central State University). Bryan started his career as a delivery driver on the bread routes and then worked for Wonder Bread/Hostess Cakes in Dallas, TX for 10 years. In 1980, Bryan opened his accounting practice in South Oklahoma City where he prepared individual and corporate tax returns for 41 years. He loved his business and his clients, making long-lasting friendships with many. His bookkeeper, Carol Dearman, worked alongside him for 37 years. She was not only a co-worker, but a dear friend to Bryan and his family. Bryan loved camping, fishing, hunting, remote control airplanes and flying; he even obtained his pilot’s license. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting on his good friend, Tommy’s land. He loved watching western and war movies and reading Louis L’Amour books. He also loved the OU Sooners, especially rooting for the football, men’s & women’s basketball, baseball and softball teams. He was a big fan of Rush Limbaugh and enjoyed reading political books. Over the years he and Karol were active in church and Bryan taught Sunday school class and was Director of the children’s Awana program at First Baptist Church of Harrah.
Bryan is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Karol Cheatwood; Parents, John and Wanda Cheatwood and Parent-in-Laws, John and Zula Morrel.
He is survived by his Son, Russell Cheatwood; Daughters, Staci Young and Kellie Corey and Husband J.R.; Grandchildren, Shelby, Joshua, and Brady Young and Mason and Marlee Corey; Brother, Bryce and Wife Vicki Cheatwood; Sister; Johnetta and Husband Gary Dickerson; Brother-in-Laws, Dr. Jim Morrel and Wife Sue, Reece Morrel and Wife LaRheta, and Bob Morrel and Wife Suzanne; Sister-in-Laws, Doryce Livingston and Husband Lewis and Joyce Allen and Husband Jim, and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
