

Carla May Blackwell, 56 year-old resident of Midwest City, OK, passed away February 12, 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK. Born February 25, 1960 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Carl Raymond Blackwell and Myrl Katheryn O’Dell Blackwell. Myrl was a longtime history teacher at Edmond Santa Fe High School. She was also very involved in assorted extracurricular activities at Edmond Santa Fe High School. She loved knitting and sewing, having donated many Blankets, Hats, & Scarves for the Jesus House, fishing, camping, watching tennis, and reading. Carla was preceded in death by her father, Carl Blackwell in 1984. Survivors include her mother, Myrl Blackwell of Laverne, OK; 1 brother, Gus and his wife Joanna Blackwell of Laverne, OK; 3 sisters, Stella Bass of Midwest City, OK; Cathy and her husband David Creagh of Gurnee, IL; and Donna and her husband, Michael Sinclair of Washington, D.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with burial to follow in Kolb Cemetery, Spencer, Oklahoma.
