

Carmen Mary Lockwood, 88, passed away on February 5, 2026. She was born in Oklahoma City to Sisto and Juana Peña. Carmen graduated from Mount St. Mary’s high school in 1957. She shared 68 years of marriage with Lynn Lockwood, the love of her life. She and Lynn were sweethearts for more than 70 years after their first date on October 15, 1955.
Carmen was always happy and a joy to be around. She was unfailingly kind and thoughtful. She was a member of the altar guild at St. James and, with her husband, a long-time member of the church choir. She enjoyed her bridge club and bowling leagues for many years. She loved to travel and was able to visit Italy twice with her daughters and to see Hawaii with her husband. Her most favorite travel was going for a drive with her husband to see what there was to see in Oklahoma and in the surrounding states.
She is survived by her husband and her sister, Alta Oden, of Ft. Worth, Texas, her daughter, Sharon Lockwood; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Bill Bartlebaugh; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Phillip Chase; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Mike Wehagen; and daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Rick Mantooth. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren: granddaughter Amy Blackburn and husband Ryan Blackburn, great-grandchildren Hailey, Reagan and Emery; granddaughter Kim Fischer and husband Eric Fischer and great-grandsons Gavin and Crew; granddaughter Cindy Higgins and great-grandchildren Gracelyn, Jackson, Sawyer and Brantley; granddaughter Dana Crowe and husband Rusty Crowe and great-grandson Evan; grandson Ryan Chase and wife Jana Chase and great-grandchildren Parker and Gannon; granddaughter Michelle Allen and husband Michael Allen and great-grandson Miles; grandson Landon Carrier and great-grandson Charlie; grandson Jared Carrier; grandson Travis Mantooth and wife Nichole Shadid-Mantooth and great-granddaughter Evelyn; and grandson Jake Mantooth and great-grandson Phinneas.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Peña, Joseph Peña; Anthony Peña, Phillip Peña, Daniel Peña and David Peña and sisters, Maxine Bennett and Virginia Ashley; and her grandson Jeffrey Chase.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 4201 S McKinley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73109, US. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
