Carol Barton was such an amazing person, and my heartfelt condolences go out to her family. Whenever I called and needed payroll assistance, she would always pick-up or would call you right back if she couldn't get to you right then and there. Carol patiently helped me navigate the PeopleSoft system, especially during the State’s transition to the new software. She was truly my SHERO. No matter how busy she may have been, she always made time to help.
Carol had a special way of making everyone feel as though they were her favorite. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit will never be forgotten. She was truly an angel on Earth, and I feel blessed to have known her.

Carol was both a mentor and a dear friend. I first met her in early 2002 and later had the privilege of working for her in 2011. I feel truly blessed to have had that time with her—learning from her, growing under her guidance, and benefiting from the skills she so generously shared. She taught me not only many of the abilities I use in my job today but also the importance of maintaining a positive and uplifting attitude in every situation. Carol was a remarkable, dedicated woman, and she will be deeply missed. My prayers are with the family she loved so dearly.

I wanted to take a moment to share how much Carol has meant to me, both as a co-worker and as a friend. Before Carol became my supervisor, I always felt comfortable reaching out to her with questions and for guidance. Carol's eagerness to teach and patience made a lasting impact on me. I will truly miss her wonderful sense of humor and the graceful poise she brought to every situation. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with Carol's family.

I assisted her when she retired from the State and she was always so nice to talk to.  I will be praying for her family during this difficult time.

I’m deeply saddened to learn the Carol Barton has passed away. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Carol at the Oklahoma Office of Personnel and valued her outstanding contributions on behalf of the people of Oklahoma. When I came to work for the State of Oklahoma Carol greeted me with open arms. I remember her for her graciousness, positivity and sense of humor. She was respected by all and adored by many, including me.

Sometimes we worked long hours and we had an inside joke about that. On those nights whoever went home first was certain to drop by the other's desk to let them know with a wink that they had 'won' by working later. 

I will always remember her with fondness. RIP Carol.

Carol was my go to person when we had problems possessing our payrolls back when I worked with DOC.  She was such a nice kind person to work with.   She knew the system inside out.  I miss working with people like Carol.  She worked hard and long hours for many years.  Rest in peace Carol!

I worked with Carol for many years, she was my go to person. No matter what the question, Carol would find the answer. She was one of the sweetest ladies in the world and my life is richer for having known her.

I got to know Carol a couple years ago when she moved to Ozark, MO.  I got to spend some quality time with her in the past couple months and learned a lot about her and her life in OK.  I found her to be very pleasant, kind and a gentle spirit even though she was dealing with much pain.
I am so thankful that she is now pain free and enjoying what we all are longing for someday.

I got the pleasure to care for Carol three days a week during dialysis. She had a spunky disposition (at times), mostly soft spoken, gentle & kind. I enjoyed our conversations about her life, career & family. She will be greatly missed.
