Carol and her husband, Marvin, settled in Oklahoma City in 1981 after his retirement from the United States Air Force. After moving to Oklahoma City, Carol worked for USF&G Insurance, where she remained until her retirement. In retirement, she prayerfully devoted her time and talents to supporting her husband and furthering the Royal Rangers ministry, serving faithfully and humbly behind the scenes.
Marvin first met Carol at Loveland Assembly of God Church, where she used her God-given musical talents to worship and serve the Lord as pianist and organist. After Marvin’s tour of duty in Vietnam, the two were united in marriage on April 3, 1966, at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas. Carol continued serving in music ministry for many years, until rheumatoid arthritis made playing difficult.
In 1967, Marvin was transferred to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they attended Evangel Assembly of God Church. During this season of life, the Lord blessed their family through adoption when they welcomed their son, Kevin, at just ten days old.
Carol played an essential yet quiet role in Marvin’s 53-year involvement with the Royal Rangers program. Long before modern technology, she devoted countless hours typing certificates, preparing conference materials, assisting with registrations, and supporting district and national events. She later helped oversee scheduling, accounting, and facility preparation during Marvin’s service as Oklahoma District Commander. Though she never sought recognition, her faithful service reflected her servant’s heart and strengthened the ministry.
Carol was a devoted wife, helpmate, and companion whose faith, humility, and wisdom uplifted her family and encouraged many others. She lived her life as a reflection of Christ’s love—serving faithfully, often unseen, and trusting God in all things.
Carol will be deeply missed on this earth but joyfully remembered with the assurance that she now rests in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth, and her father, William Garrett.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Lemke; her sister, Pam Lewis, and her husband, Rev. Allen Lewis, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; her niece, DeNaye Attwell, and husband Jeff; her son, Kevin Lemke, and daughter-in-law, Graciela; five grandsons, Salvador, Victor, Kevin, Kyle, and Cody; and six great-grandchildren.
The family gives thanks to God for the loving, close-knit family that has been a constant blessing to them.

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. — John 14:2–3 (KJV)
Serenaded by Angels
Song by Kirk Talley ‧ 1995
She went to sleep one night
Never to awake again
But everything was all right
Between her and Him
She awoke in Heaven's courtyard
Free from pain within
The angels gathered around her
And took her by the hand
Serenaded by angels, up to the throne
Serenaded by angels, finally at home
Surrounded by praises, to the King
Welcome to Paradise, the angels did sing
Now I close my eyes at night
And try to imagine
That city of brilliant light
Waiting for me
But my mind cannot conceive
So I'll continue to dream
'Til I'm transported there
Then I will be
Serenaded by angels, up to the throne
Serenaded by angels, finally at home
Surrounded by praises, to the King
Welcome to Paradise, the angels did sing
Serenaded by angels, up to the throne
Serenaded by angels, finally at home
Surrounded by praises, to the King
Welcome to Paradise, the angels did sing
Welcome to paradise, the angels did sing
