

Carol Whitehead Robertson Trembley, 90, passed away June 15, 2013. She was born April 2, 1923 in Meade, Kansas to Arvilla and Jesse E. Whitehead. Growing up in Wichita, KS, she went on to graduate from Wichita University in 1944 and afterwards became an educator in Hutchinson, KS. Carol married Philip N. Robertson on October 6, 1946 in Hutchinson, KS and they moved to Oklahoma City in 1961. They had two children, James and Nancy, and enjoyed a wonderful life together until Phil passed away in 1990. Carol married Grant Trembley in 1995 and moved to Arlington, KS and later to Hutchinson, KS. Carol returned to Oklahoma City after Grant passed away in 2003.
Carol is survived by her son, James Philip Robertson and his wife, Claudia, of OKC; her daughter, Nancy Louise Dollmeyer, of Denver; and six grandchildren, Jack, Jeff, Lauren, Jacob, Lucy, and Brendon and his wife, Genevieve. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Stephen and Betsy Trembley; Stanley and Jean Trembley; Sarah and Bryan Evans; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Carol was a member of Nichols Hills United Methodist Church where she was instrumental in establishing the church library and was active in the choir, United Methodist Women and the Art Group. She was a member of the Ladies Music Club, Tuesday Book Club, Sigma Alpha Iota Int’l Music Fraternity, and Oklahoma City Orchestra League, as well as, being active in P.E.O. Chapter CK for over fifty years. Her passions for Art, Music and Literature went beyond her community involvement; Carol was an accomplished Artist, Musician and Writer herself. For many years, she shared her musical talent as a Vocal Soloist, singing at weddings and funerals, being a permanent fixture in the choir and performing musical reviews for Lyric Theatre. In her later years, she spent winters in Scottsdale, Arizona where she studied at the Scottsdale Artist’s School and served on the board. She traveled extensively throughout the world, embarking on many adventures. Everywhere she traveled, she took pictures of scenes to be painted at a later date. Carol will be remembered for her passion for life, always looking for the positive and fun in every experience.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper. After a private burial at Rose Hill Burial Park, a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church. Memorials can be made to P.E.O. Chapter CK or Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.
