Caroline Dell (Abbott) Mayfield was born on May 29, 1940, in Miami, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Abbott and Beryl (Leer) Abbott. She graduated from Claremore HS in 1958 and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from OCU. She was happily married to Charles Mayfield for over 58 years. She is survived by her loving husband Charles; son Scott Mayfield of Edmond, OK; son and daughter-in-law David and Alishia Mayfield of Edmond, OK; grandson Nicholas Mayfield of Mesa, AZ; granddaughter Madelyn Mayfield of Washington D.C.; brother-in-law and his wife Mike and Harriet Mayfield of Piedmont, OK; as well as numerous lifelong friends.
Caroline was active in many organizations including the Colonel John Starke, Sr chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Oklahoma City Republican Women’s Club, the Oklahoma City Ladies Music Club, and her Garden and Book clubs. Caroline enjoyed traveling, needlepoint, listening to music, playing the piano, and spending time with friends and family.
Viewing will be held Thursday, August 6, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Hahn Cook Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Ext. A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N. Kelley Avenue.
