Carolyn Arnold was born in Oklahoma City on October 3, 1953. She was an avid reader whose favorite book was one open in front of her. If there were words on it, she wanted to read it. She also loved to travel and see new places (that she had probably read about), and she enjoyed design shows that gave her new ideas about how her own home should look. She loved her husband, her daughter, her dogs, and her friends, and her heart was always open to taking in a new daughter, dog, or friend. There was only one husband love for her, however. Carolyn met Raymond in October of 1977, and he proposed three weeks later. They were married April 8 of the following spring. She began her adult life studying nursing then worked as a nurse, and she loved sharing stories about her time in the mental health ward and at the health department. She also loved being a mother, and her daughter was her greatest joy and pride. When family had need of care, Carolyn was quick to step in and nurse them, too. The last two years of her life were a trial for her, but she tried hard to stay optimistic and believe it would all be better someday. She got her wish on November 6, 2024, when she was released from pain and disability to rejoin her beloved Raymond and her dearly missed parents. She is both mourned and celebrated by those left behind, who include her sister, Cathy Johnson, daughter Raelyn, grand puppy Bella Rose, and foster daughter Pixie. When sending her babies, human or canine off to bed, she left them with these sweet words, that we offer now to her: Goodnight. Sleep tight. Sweet dreams. I love you.
