Cathy attended Sacred Heart Dominican College and received her nursing degree from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. She began her career working in hospitals before becoming a teacher’s aide for handicapped children. It was there that her passion for special education was born, ultimately guiding her to a long and meaningful career as a school nurse in the Putnam City School System. She spent most of her years caring for multi-handicapped children at Lakepark Elementary, where her patience, kindness, and gentle presence made a lasting impact on countless students and families.
A faithful woman, Cathy was a longtime member of the Catholic Church of the Epiphany of the Lord. After her retirement, she continued to serve others through volunteer work and found great joy in her book club and her involvement with the church’s Health Ministry Team, where her caring nature and nursing background continued to bless those around her.
Above all else, Cathy loved her family deeply. She was a steady presence, a source of comfort, and the heart of her home. Her love was quiet but powerful, shown through her actions, her loyalty, and her constant care for those she held dear.
Cathy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her servant’s heart, and the deep love she shared with her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished so completely.
