Charles Joseph Dunn, known as “Joe” by those close to him, was born January 4, 1961 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Charles David and Rose Marie (Conner) Dunn. Joe passed away June 28, 2019 in Oklahoma City.

Joe was a certified public accountant, and had a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University. He remained a lifelong fan of OSU sports. Joe was a certified member of The Oklahoma Society of Public Accountants. He enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling league at one time. Joe also liked being outdoors. Cooking and grilling out, and spending time at Cedar Blue, near Lake Arbuckle, were some of his favorite pastimes. Spending time with his pets was important to him, especially with “Scooter”, his beloved French bulldog. Joe will be remembered as being a kindhearted soul who went out of his way to help others.

Joe is survived by his father, Charles David Dunn; sister, Joyce Arnold; long-time companion, Jeffrey Scott; and many other friends and family members who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Marie (Conner) Dunn; and partner, J.P. Henson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M., Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73141.

Joe was my brother JP’s life partner, having been together over 25 years before JP passed away.
Joe was an amazing man, so very gentle and caring. He was also incredibly passionate and had an incredible sense of humor... his laugh was unique and I hope to never forget the sound of his laughter.
He was extremely compassionate and loved his French Bulldogs and all animals and nature. He loved taking trips to Colorado and was especially fond of spending time with friends at the lake. He had just bought a lake home and was looking forward to spending much time there.
A very bright man, he was a talented accountant, having graduated from Oklahoma State University. I tried not to hold that against him, but loved to ‘poke’ fun about it on occasion, mostly during football season. After all, Hensons are huge Sooner fans.
Joe was also my brother JP’s caregiver, and his love, care and self-sacrifice is something that I will always be eternally grateful for.
Joe, I love you more than words and the world will be a little less bright without you in it. ❤️
