

Charlotte N. Barnes-Lewin, 77, passed away after a short illness October 28, 2024, at an Oklahoma City Hospital. She was born July 27, 1947, to Estil Neal and Joyce Nancy (Stoll) Barnes at Manhattan, Kansas. Charlotte attended grade school at many locations while she and her mother followed her father in the construction of Phillips 66 gas stations along the new Eisenhower Interstate System. They settled in Bartlesville, Ok. shortly before high school. She graduated from Bartlesville High School in 1965 where she had been named most outstanding artist for Oklahoma. She attended Southwestern State University, Weatherford, Oklahoma, earning a BA in commercial art. Charlotte was a highly regarded equestrienne and won “Miss Rodeo Oklahoma” honors in 1966. In later years she pursued genealogy learning about her heritage.
Upon graduation she moved to Oklahoma City where she worked in commercial art. She began her own commercial art business, The Barnes Group. She married Stephen Lewin Jan 15, 1995, and eventually joined her husband in his business, B&W Overnight Photos. Charlotte’s expertise at Photo Shop editing gained her wide acclaim in both art and photo printing. Charlotte loved her animals and always had a dog and a couple cats.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Lewin and two stepchildren Andrea (Lewin) Johnson and Michael Lewin and her beloved dog Brice. Charlotte will be greatly missed by her relatives and the many friends she acquired over the years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Oklahoma Humane Society, 7500 N. A graveside service will occur Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Yates Center Cemetery, Yates Center, KS 66783.
