Charlotte leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by her devoted spouse, Johnny Jakes Jr, and her cherished children, Elijah Jakes and Dajeau Jakes. She was a dedicated wife and mother, always putting her family first.
Having attended Putnam City High School while concurrently enrolled in Francis Tuttle Technology School, Charlotte excelled in her education. On June 30th, 1995, she married Johnny Jakes Jr, and their union lasted for 29 beautiful years.
Charlotte was a vibrant member of the community, finding solace in the Hebrew Israelite movement where she found a loving community to share her faith with. She was a woman of many talents and interests, from reading and cooking to her love for the color purple. An avid basketball fan, Charlotte frequently attended OKC Thunder games with her family.
Known for her outgoing personality and unique sense of style, Charlotte took pride in her appearance, always ensuring her nails, toes, and lashes were impeccably done. In high school, she even designed her own clothes to express her individuality.
Throughout her employment history, Charlotte showcased her dedication and passion. From working in insurance to a suicide prevention center, she approached each role with a team-oriented mindset, creating a family-like environment for her colleagues. Her ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges allowed her to excel in her career.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In her memory, let us carry on her spirit of love, strength, and dedication to family and community.
