Christina was born on May 11, 1948, in Berlin, Germany to Willard Ray Meyer and Brigette Margarita Clara Ilse Muller. At the age of two, she moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she was raised alongside her siblings, Willard, Daniel, Martin, and Victoria. She later moved to Oklahoma to attend college at Bethany Nazarene University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
Christina married Kambiz Ken Taleghaniford and together they built a life centered on family, raising their two children, Daryush and Metra.
She dedicated forty years to Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, where she served as Managing Director. She was a former President of the Western Catholic Cemeteries Association, the Oklahoma Cemeteries Association, and a board member for the National Catholic Cemeteries Association.
Christina was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, completing every task handed to her the right way. Christina found joy in life’s simple moments. Christina loved music from the 1960s and 1970s, traveling, and unwinding during happy hour after a hard day’s work. She had a special gift for creating a warm and welcoming home, often redecorating with a perfectionist’s touch. She found laughter from watching happy animals at play, enjoying British humor, and following a clever mystery twist.
Above all, Christina was a devoted and selfless mother who loved her family wholeheartedly. She set an example of unconditional love, sacrifice, and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She wished to be remembered as someone proudly dedicated to helping others, and she lived that value every day.
She is survived by her husband, Kambiz Ken Taleghaniford; her children, Daryush Taleghaniford of Oklahoma City and Metra Taleghanifard, of Oklahoma City; her brothers, Willard H. Meyer and his wife Sheila Meyer of Iowa, Daniel W. Meyer of Norman, Oklahoma, Martin T. Meyer of Iowa; and her sister Victoria A. Korf of Iowa.
Christina Taleghaniford will be laid to rest in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
