Claudette Nell Coffey, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on March 31, 2026. She was born on September 20, 1933, in Gainesville, Texas, to Jesse and Retha Atcuson. She resided in Warr Acres, Oklahoma, at the time of her passing.
Nell lived a life rooted in love, compassion, and unwavering faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Coffey, with whom she shared 70 years of love and devotion, as well as several cherished family members.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Jim and Susan Coffey, Joe and Brenda Coffey, Jon and Cathy Coffey, Jeff and Christy Coffey, Denise Coffey, and Jeanne Miller. Her legacy continues through her 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Nell dedicated 35 years of her life to nursing, faithfully serving others with kindness and skill. She retired from Mercy Hospital in 2005, leaving behind a legacy of care and compassion that touched countless lives.
Outside of her career, Nell found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved attending ladies’ craft days at church, expressing her creativity through painting, and spending cherished time cooking and baking with her grandchildren. She could also never pass up a good sale without finding something she needed.
Known for her giving heart and strong faith, Nell lived as an example of grace, strength, and selflessness. Her love for her family and her devotion to God were evident in everything she did.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held at Woodson Park Church of the Nazarene in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
