Clyde Branton was born August 22, 1940 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Howard and Ardgry Branton. He was nicknamed “Little Buddy”, named by his mother because he was so small he could fit into a coffee pot. Clyde graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Idabel, Oklahoma. He received his Air Conditioning and Refrigeration license after attending school in Oklahoma City. Clyde lived in Continental, Arizona, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and resided in Yukon, Oklahoma. On July 19, 1982, Clyde married the love of his life, Mary Mines. He received the Holy Ghost as a young child and enjoyed praising God and listening to the praise team at his home church, The Gate. Clyde was a faithful member of the Idabel Connection and served diligently. Clyde will be missed by his wife, Mary Branton; children, James (Gloria) Branton, Sheri Henderson, Rhonda (Tyrone) Miles, Wanda Branton, Gwen (Johnny) Rosborough, and Rodney (Shannon) Mines; siblings, Willie Bell Smith of Oklahoma City, Dorothy Lucas of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Clemes (Felicia) Branton of Oklahoma City; 17 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
