Dale Edward Nance, lovingly known as “Poppy,” was born on August 28, 1944, in Parsons, Kansas, to Frank Stephen Nance and Helen Opal (Stringer) Nance. He later made his home in Moore, Oklahoma, where he spent many years surrounded by family and friends.
Dale proudly served in the U.S. Army and carried that sense of duty and commitment throughout his life. He was a hard-working man who valued simplicity, kindness, and time spent with those he loved most. He completed his education through high school and built a life grounded in dedication to family.
Dale loved 1970s and 1980s country music and his perfect day was spent sitting on the porch watching cars go by, ending the evening with a crossword puzzle. Those quiet moments brought him peace and happiness.
On March 20, 1991, Dale married the love of his life, Sandra Nance, and together they shared nearly 35 years of marriage filled with love, support, and devotion.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Nance of Moore, Oklahoma, his children Kim Draper of Moore, Oklahoma, and Stephanie Jones and her husband Bobby Jones of Blanchard, Oklahoma, his brother to Jeremy Nance of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and his Grandchildren Chanel Kister, Madison Choate, Edward Draper, Andrew Draper, Brandon Draper, and Ashley Draper, and a proud great-grandfather to Owen Kistler.
