Darla Jean Stubblefield, loving wife, mom, granny, and aunt passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025. Darla was born in Oklahoma City on June 17, 1935 to Charlie and Velma Gallamore. Darla married the love of her life, Ray Stubblefield, on June 22, 1956. Darla passed away exactly two weeks after Ray passed away on January 10th. They spent an amazing 68 years together and defined the meaning of “True Love”.
Darla’s whole world revolved around her family. When she traveled, she traveled with family. When she celebrated, she celebrated with family. For years, she helped plan the family reunion. Darla was known for making incredible eggnog pies, red cake, and German chocolate cakes. Her grandson loved that she always took the time to grate cheese for salad or tacos. She loved her grandchildren and hardly missed any of their activities or sporting events. If something did come up and she had to miss activity, she anticipated a call afterward with a play by play on what she missed. When the grandchildren were small, you would find her playing on the floor with them, which then carried on to the great-grandchildren. As Darla got older, the great-grandchildren knew that they would have to bring toys to her to play.
Darla loved painting and crafting. She made her daughters’ clothes, grandchildren’s Halloween costumes, and granddaughter’s Barbie Doll clothes. She enjoyed bowling and being involved with the AT&T Pioneers. She had a love for frogs and “Lucky #7”. She enjoyed playing card games and her granddaughter was always amazed at her ability to shuffle the playing cards.
Darla was survived by her daughter Cheryl and husband Rob Workman; grandchildren, Chad Workman, Lindsay and husband Tyler Green; great grandchildren, Sawyer and Gus Green; brother Bob Gallamore along with many nieces and nephews.
