David was born to Catherine and Kevin Driskill on January 30, 1992, in Oklahoma City. He attended Casady High School, graduating in 2010. David then studied at the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and a walk-on member of the OU football team. David’s five years on that team were some of his happiest. His effort and perseverance on the field were much admired by his coaches and teammates, many of whom became lifelong friends. David was named Offensive Scout Team Player for four seasons and won the Derrick Shepard Inspirational Walk-on Award. In addition, David earned Academic Big 12, graduating in 2015 with a degree in Economics with a minor in Philosophy. He went on to complete a Master’s in Education in 2017.
After college, David devoted himself to his faith. As a member of FOCUS Catholic Fellowship for two years in Austin, Texas, David served on many missions both locally and abroad.
Currently, David was employed by OIC of Oklahoma County teaching adult literacy, earning a Staff Recognition Award. “Mister David’s” caring patience impacted the lives of all of his students.
David was preceded in death by his father, Kevin K. Driskill, maternal grandparents, Tom and Mary Lou Clote and paternal grandfather Terrell (Toar) Driskill. He is survived by his loving mother, Catherine Driskill, brother, John K. Driskill, grandmother, Linda Driskill and many close-knit aunts, uncles and cousins.
David’s sudden departure leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His charitable spirit continues to enrich others’ lives through his generous donation to Life Share.
