

David Owen McMillan of 72 years passed away after a long illness on February 1st at Tuscany Nursing Home Hospice Center. He was the most caring, compassionate, loving partner, and soulmate to his wife, Patty Downing McMillan. They shared almost 34 years of marriage.
David was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is his son of Wilbur, and Marie McMillan. David graduated from Carl Albert high school in 1969, Midwest City. From there he went to Central State University which is now UCO, and received his Bachelors degree Edmond Ok. He also went to Las Cruces, NM there he studied criminology and got his associates degree. David retired in 2017 from the Inspector General office as a senior agent. David also worked as a police officer, Oklahoma State
Bureau of investigations agent. He worked for National Auto Theft Bureau Investigations. He was a lead investigator to the district attorneys office, and was in law-enforcement for 45 years with many achievements, awards, and certificates to many to name.
David was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church. He loved his Sunday school class, The Fishermen. David had a beautiful bass voice and loved to sing with Patty and Audrea. He loved his vacations with his family in Branson Mo. There were many cherished memories made there.
David was survived by his wife Patty, and daughter Audrea Dianne of Oklahoma City, OK. One step daughter Diane Morrison, husband Allen of Mesa, AZ. Sister Carolyn Suzanne McMillan Robey, husband Robert of Tulsa, OK. Sister-in-law Dianna Downing Johnson, husband Jerry of Mannford, OK. Sister-in-law Sharilyn Smith Clay, husband Harry of Grapevine, TX. Brother-in-law Frank Smith, wife Reverend Angie Smith of Land ‘o Lakes FL. David’s sweet Babydoll Tessa Marie, his 5lb Yorkie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Marie McMillan. One sister Shirley McMillan Bridges.
The Memorial Service will be held on March 1, 2024 at 10:00am Southern Hills Baptist Church.
