David Eugene White, 81, of Jones passed from this life on Jan 14, 2021. Services have been entrusted to the care of Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home and a public visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 2-8pm at the funeral home. A graveside service will take place a Jones IOOF Cemetery on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2pm.
David was born in Norman, AR on Nov. 23, 1939. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1966. During his younger years, David worked construction before accepting a job as a custodian at Jones Public Schools. He spent over two decades at JPS and made many wonderful friends there. He later took a position as a gravedigger at a cemetery in Spencer before eventually retiring in the early 2000’s.
David spent the rest of his days sitting on his porch watching cars go by. He was a fun loving guy who was always the life of the party. He was loud and opinionated, but easy to love. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends and family. He left an unmistakable mark on the lives of those he loved and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harville and Lena White; his soulmate Velma Mae White, and his brother James “Catfish” White.
David is survived by his daughter Debbie Tilley and husband Billy of Shady Point, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Stephanie Parker of Poteau, Oklahoma and Patrick Tilley and wife Nikki of Harrah, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Champ Downs, Abigayle, Kylynn, and Lilyan Parker of Poteau, Oklahoma; Brother Red White and wife Claudine of Spencer, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones, and many friends.
