

Dean Eldon Gigstad was born at his parent’s farmhouse near Lancaster, KS on October 15, 1936 and passed away with his loving family by his side on October 19, 2015. Dean graduated from Valley Falls HS in 1953 and went on to Kansas State and join Delta Sigma Phi fraternity at the ripe age of 16. After 1-yr Dean left K-State to join the Army where he served in the armored infantry. Most of his military service was in Germany, where he spent his free time traveling Europe. After early release, he returned to K-State where he received degrees in Dairy Manufacturing and Business Administration. He spent 11 yrs in the dairy industry, mostly in Kansas City. Dean moved his family to OKC in 1969 where he later became an investment broker with A.G. Edwards and had a career that spanned nearly 3 decades. He was raised in the Lutheran Church, served as an elder in the Presbyterian Church, and was later a member of the United Methodist Church. Dean’s favorite pastimes were helping coach or watch his children/grandchildren play sports, he looked forward to bird hunting every Fall, fishing farm ponds in KS, and never missed an opportunity to ride in a combine during harvest. Dean is survived by his loving wife of 51 years: Judy; his brother Delbert; his two sons: Mark and Jeff Gigstad and Jeff’s wife Sarah; and grandchildren: Hannah Mae, Caden, Jens, Justine, and Mira. Dean’s goal in life was to always live with honor and integrity whether it was in business dealings or everyday life.
