Debra Jean Moss

Debra Jean Jones was heaven sent on September 23, 1955, to Bessie Mae Jones and Tommie Jones in New Orleans, Louisiana. Debra was raised in Tallulah, Louisiana until the age of nine years old, when her mother passed. She began a new life living with her only sister Sinetta T. Farley, two nieces (Patricia, Diane and one nephew, Calvin) who lived in California. Debra and her nieces & nephew grew up as siblings.

She attended elementary school in California, graduating from Jordon High School in June of 1973.

Debra married Andrew (Earl) Moss on November 23, 1979 & they accepted the Lord as their personal Savior during the same year. They were married 43 years. Upon them marrying, they became a blended family including their children, Kenneth Earl Moss & Sokia Miesha Young. Earl & Debra moved to Oklahoma City between 1982 and 1983 through a General Motors Relocation Plan.

Sokia had three children Courtney & Cierrah Young and Cameron Chitwood.

Debra became a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church under the late Revered John A. Reed Jr. in 1997. She served as an usher until the Lord called her home. Debra was a breath of fresh air in a world clouded by overly judgmental people, a realist, and someone not ashamed of where she came from or what it took to get where she went in life. A bright light in a dark room, an amplifier of good moods, and the life of any party. She could have a good time with anyone and was never quiet about how she felt.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son Kenneth Earl Moss, her granddaughter Courtney Young (Dayshawn Ealy), grandson Cameron Chitwood, great grandson Ryelin Ealy, sister Sinetta Farley, Charley Mae Jones (Sister-in-law), nieces Patricia Trimble-Walckhoff, Diane Collier, Cynthia Jones; nephew Dee Dee Jones and their families and relatives and friends.

Those who preceded her in death: Andrew Earl Moss (Husband), Sokia Miesha Young (Daughter), Cierrah J’nese Young (Granddaughter), Willie Lee Jones (Brother), Willie L. Farley Jr. (Brother in law), Drayton Jones (Nephew), Calvin B. Trimble (Nephew), Susana Jones(Grandmother), Bessie M. Jones(Mother).
