Delora Gail Lough was born on January 12, 1953, in Holdenville, OK, to Marvin and Dorthea “Dottie” Lough. She was raised in Moore, OK, where she graduated with the Moore High School class of 1971. She spent many years working as an office manager in the wholesale water supply products industry in OKC. In 1992, while Delora was working at Winpump, she met a new delivery driver named Ed Lassiter. In the late 90s, they developed a friendship, which led to Ed making her his bride in July of 1999. Ed and Delora lovingly spent the next twenty-one years by each other’s side. In 2004, along with two other partners, they opened Total Pump and Supply in OKC. Delora served as the office manager, and it was her job to keep everyone in line, which she did eloquently and with great compassion. She later attended OCCC where she earned an Associates Degree in Science.
Delora was the most caring and compassionate person who selflessly put others before herself. She loved spending her time with her family and could often be found at the family’s cabin at Lake Tenkiller. A perfect weekend for Delora included fishing, boating, and swimming with her kids and grandchildren, or browsing antique stores for the perfect find. Family was always her top priority, and she loved to shop and spoil her grandchildren. If she knew they needed something, she would often get it before they could even ask.
She was a proud mother who loved her children unconditionally. Although they were a blended family, Delora and Ed chose to love and raise each other's children as their own. Delora and Ed were truly each other’s soulmates and spoke often of how easy being with each other was; they could simply look at one another from across the room and know what the other was thinking. They were the perfect complement to each other’s lives. She adored her three dogs, Lucie, Sandie and Jazzie. When she was not spending time with her family, Delora enjoyed reading mystery novels and watching sappy Hallmark and Lifetime movies. Delora’s faith was important to her, and she attended Life.Church in Mustang.
Delora was truly a remarkable woman who chose to see the good in everyone. She was a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a caring grandmother, and a trusted friend. The memories that we share will live on through the legacy she left behind. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Dottie Lough, and a brother, Jimmy Lough. She is survived by her husband, Ed Lassiter; four children, Nathan Jury and wife Jessica, Amber Barnes and husband Michael, Chali Francis and husband Brian, and Laci Moore and husband Josh; and nine grandchildren, Jamie, Breanna, Kennedy, Emma, Brenden, Skyli, Bryar, Paige and Faith; stepmother, Gerry Lough; and stepbrothers, Brian Bozworth and wife Janet, and Nick Bozworth. She is also survived by numerous other beloved family members and friends.
Condolences may be sent to the family via the online guestbook at advantageokc.com, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Life.Church, Mustang, Oklahoma.
