Diane was born on August 17, 1948 in Oklahoma City to Bill and Pat Terry. She graduated from Putnam City High School in 1966 and then attended Oklahoma State University where she met her husband of 43 years, Gene Hawk. After leaving Stillwater they moved to Seminole where Diane worked as the secretary of the president and was the head of Veteran Affairs at Seminole Junior College for seven years. They then moved to Oklahoma City and started a home building business. A few years later she became a very successful Realtor and served on the Ethics Committee for the Oklahoma City Board of Realtors. When she retired in 2010, she then had time to enjoy her many hobbies of working crossword puzzles, going to estate sales, playing cards, and traveling with their many friends. Diane loved her family and friends and was the happiest when surrounded by them.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Ann and her father, William Russell Terry.
Diane is survived by her husband, Gene: her two sons: Terry, from Holdenville, OK; Kevin and wife Cortnee, from Okarche, OK; sister, Lou Ann Spencer from Lake Eufaula, OK. Diane also had five grandchildren: Logan, Preston, Emily, Alex and Natalee and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 28th from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 NW Expressway.
The funeral service will be held at the Chapel at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens on Thursday, November 29th at 2:30 p.m.
