Donald Joseph Brown was born in El Reno, Oklahoma on July 22, 1937 to Ray and Aggie Brown. He was raised on a large farm in Tuttle, Oklahoma, and later graduated from Mustang High School. Don married Mona in 1962 and they built a life together in Oklahoma City.
Don was a successful petroleum land man for over 30 years. He then went on to work for Gulfstream Aerospace until retirement. He was an avid golfer, playing at a semi pro level and a huge Sooners football fan. He loved and spent much time in the mountains of Red River, New Mexico.
More than anything, Don was a man of faith. He was active in Royal Rangers boy's ministry, and the Full Gospel Business Men's Association. Don was active in prison ministry for over 30 years and visited many prisons throughout the state, seeking to show love and deliver a message of grace to those who needed it. He would walk in the open prison yard alone to find a special prisoner he wanted to see, to convey his love, and the love of Christ. Don was gracious, kind, and giving to all who knew him. He offered love and prayer to all who needed it and had a special soft spot in his heart for the outcast. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Aggie; brothers, Jerry and Ronnie.
Don is survived by Mona Brown, and his children, Jennifer, Don Jr., and a bonus son Aaron; Two grandchildren, Caleb, Makiah, and bonus grandchildren, Blake, Chantz, and Kaitlyn; A great grandson, Nash Don; His precious sister, Patsy; And nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to thank Frontier Hospice and his nurse, Amy, and aide, Ladwanna who took such good care of him.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is death of his saints. Psalms
