

Donald Dean Carlson, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on January 7th, 2025. He was 63 years old.
Born on January 1st, 1962, in Codington County, South Dakota. Donny was the son of Charles and Joyce Carlson. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Army, demonstrating his deep patriotism and commitment to serving his country.
For 16 years, Donny pursued a career as an over-the-road truck driver with Taylor Truck Lines, a job that allowed him to embrace his love of adventure and the open road. He often spoke fondly of the places he’d seen and the stories he collected along the way.
Don was a family man at heart, finding joy in the company of his loved ones. He looked forward to family reunions every other year in Watertown, SD, where he enjoyed weekends filled with card games and laughter by the lake, catching up with relatives and celebrating the bonds of family.
He Is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Joyce Carlson; his sisters, Charlene Carlson and Patricia Bower; and his brother, Garnett Duncan, Jr. Donny leaves behind his two daughters, Candice Parker and her husband Justin, and Mindy Tennyson and her husband Jimmy. He was a proud grandfather to Brian Tennyson, Jacob Tennyson, Kenlyn Merkey, and Kaylynne Parker. He is also survived by his brothers William Carlson, Michael Carlson and his wife Marie, his sister Glo Cunningham, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends
Donny’s sarcastic nature, sense of humor, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Donald will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services located at 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK. A funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00pm.
