

He graduated from Classen High School, attended the University of Texas, graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Don honorably served in the United States Army where he was awarded Rifle & Carbine Expert Marksman medals. After working as a Geologist for Haliburton Oil Company, Don had a successful 30-year career as a Teacher of Geology, Math, Science, and Tennis Coach at Classen High School. After retiring as a teacher Don and his first wife Marcella ran a successful business as antique dealers. Don was a lover of nature, animals and enjoyed many traveling adventures later in life.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Van Fleet, first wife, Marcella White Fleet, second wife, Shelly Martin Fleet, nephew, Steven Fleet & special friend Bernice Thatcher.
Donald is survived by his children: Robert Frank Fleet (Lori), David Cecil Fleet (Laura), Marci Lea Fleet Hodge (Phil) & stepson David Lloyd Cathey (Betty). Grandchildren: Kim Fleet Fletcher (Shane) Thomas Fleet, Austin Fleet (Calli), Katie Hodge East (Michael), Christina Hodge Hodnett (Matt), Eric Fleet, Ryan Fleet, Abby Fleet Grismore (John), Skye Fleet, Brittany Cathey & Jennifer Cathey. Great Grandchildren: Dalton Fleet, Addy Fletcher, Gunner Fletcher, Anderson East, Collins East, Grayson Fleet, Esme Fleet, Harrison East, & Claire Hodnett.
The family would like to thank the wonder staff of Villagio Senior Living along with Complete Home Health & Hospice for all their loving care & support of Don over the last years of his life.
Memorial services & reception for Donald will be Monday, November 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73162.
