Donald Keith Miskovsky was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 23, 1930, to Charles and Sylvia Miskovsky. Donald passed away in Panama City, Panama on June 21, 2024.
Carolyn Ilene Miskovsky was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on November 7, 1935, to Clovis and Helen Gee. Carolyn passed away in Panama City, Panama on March 28, 2021.
Donald was an Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War. He went on to receive his Masters in Business Education from OU. Carolyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education from OSU where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
Donald and Carolyn were married on November 28, 1957, and celebrated 63 wonderful years together. The couple lived in Oklahoma City, working as teachers, and in 1965 they moved to American Samoa. In 1967, they moved to the Panama Canal Zone where they lived until their last days.
Their days would always begin with a good breakfast, then maybe an outing with their family whether that would be boating or going to the beach, pizza at the Napoli, and getting in some reading time. They would be filled with joy and laughter when reminiscing about family trips, moments with their kids, and grandkids, and comedy movies. Some important lessons that Donald and Carolyn would teach their family would be concepts like the value of education, family, and hard work. They always made time to teach these lessons, but they also made time to have fun and show that they were always there for the people they loved. With these efforts, Donald and Carolyn would show that they were a hardworking, fun, and family-oriented couple who just straight-up cared. This love that would come from them would manifest in many different aspects of their lives. Such as their children, travel, education, history, food, culture, and music. They were well known to gather people to entertain, enjoy good food together, and share their love of Panama.
Donald and Carolyn would show humility when it came to their accomplishments, not bringing much attention to themselves, they simply enjoyed life and wanted to share it with others. Donald and Carolyn would both remain at their jobs until they retired. Outside of his main job, Donald would pursue his business interests. They never gave up on their dreams. They would teach their children well, and provide them the skills for life and how to be independent. Don and Carolyn were instrumental in satellite teaching for Samoa Education (the first Zoom.) Don was a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent. They also owned a shrimp hatchery and Oil Recyclyns.
