Donald Monroe lost his hard fought battle to a prolonged illness on April 29th, 2011. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan August 17, 1950 to Carl and Polly Monroe. He worked several years at Southern Material Handling in Tulsa before retiring in Oklahoma City, where he spent his days enjoying his favorite past times; BMW’s, soccer, his daughters and grandson. Don will always be remembered for his dry humor, unending kindness and compassion and the most loving grandfather, father and brother. He was a gentle and generous man who had an eye for art and often surprised his family with beautiful and creative gifts. He is survived by his mother, Polly Monroe of Tulsa, brother and sister-in-law David and Paula Monroe of Scottsdale, Arizona, a sister, and daughters, Ashley Ehret and Lauren Monroe and grandson, Grant. Life is short and he will be greatly missed. Chin up, Dad. We’ll miss you.
