Donald Ben Orf, born May 1st 1934, to Charles and Susie Etta Orf has joined his Lord and Savior on September 18, 2017. Don grew up in Oklahoma City, attended Central High School and served in the US Army before joining the Oklahoma City Fire Department. He retired as Captain in 1979 after 22 years of service and commitment to his community. Following his years with the fire department he joined his brother Jim in ownership of Fowler Orf Moving Company which he ran as a family business until his retirement.
Donald Ben was the sweetest man you could ever known and loved his family fiercely. Those who know him know there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his loved ones. He was dedicated to his wife, Markie Orf, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He shared with his son and brother a love for classic cars and blackjack. He enjoyed traveling with Markie and they especially enjoyed family trips to Taos, New Mexico. Don and Markie were a part of a close knit community of friends whom they love like family.
Don was a courageous fighter who came up against many health issues in the last many years. He constantly defied odds and fought to be there for his family despite his circumstances. Special thanks and love to his wife, Markie, the most doting and loving caretaker there ever was. Don was blessed by her and the many caretakers who went above and beyond in his last months.
Don is proceeded in death by his parents and three brothers Bill, Jim and John Orf. He is survived by his wife Marquita Orf and his children Kelly Elkins and husband Scott, Kenny Orf and wife Teresa, Kathy Cooksey, Jeff Johnson-Orf and Nick Johnson. He was beloved by his grandchildren Emily, Dillon, Tyler, Dena, Sunnie, Chelsea, Matthew, Chase, Brock and Cassidy. Fortunate enough to know him were also his great-grandchildren Jacob, Makynzie, Bennett, Landon, Ava, Adam, Olivia, Madison Camden and baby Nash on the way. His family is comforted knowing that he is celebrating at the Casino in the Sky with his brother Jim and a winning smile (and hand).
