Doris Milner, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away recently at the age of 72. Born on February 19, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Doris was the daughter of George William Morgan and Doris Albert Morgan (Griswold). A lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, Doris graduated from Putnam City High School.
Doris married Daniel Milner in 1975, and together they built a life centered around love and family. She is survived by her son, Travis Milner, granddaughter, Olivia Milner, honorary daughter, Laura Bartlett and husband, Jerry and their children, and sister, Sonya.
She was preceded in death by sister, Yvonne Mince.
In Doris’ later years, she met her companion in life, David Hamil, in 2014. Together, they shared a deep bond and created many joyful memories. They took vacations, spent holidays together, and enjoyed countless movie nights. Doris was a steady and loving presence in David’s life, always there for his most important moments, offering her unwavering support and warmth.
Doris brought warmth, resilience, and creativity into every space she occupied. Her journey through life was marked by strength and determination. She worked hard her whole life, instilling values of independence and perseverance in those around her. She was known for her sharp wit and her ability to find joy in the little things. Whether it was relaxing with a cup of coffee, reading, or spending time with her loved ones, Doris embraced life fully and lovingly.
Those who knew her will remember her vibrant personality, her love of crafting, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. She was always ready with advice, support, or a helping hand. Her loved ones say they learned “everything” from her, how to survive, thrive, and find independence.
She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but her legacy of love, strength, and creativity will live on through all who knew her.
