May 28, 1952 – October 10, 2019
Doyllinn Davenport was born on May 28th, 1952 in Denver, Colorado. She was the only child of Bill & Jo Davenport. She was an only child and she liked it that way. She was a happy child who remained so having to overcome obstacles and handicaps in her life. But you couldn't tell - she was active in her childhood. We used to visit them during the summers and they would return visit to Oklahoma City during the Christmas or Thanksgiving holidays. She especially loved her cousins and her grandmother Mattie Marie Davenport. Doyllinn's teenage years were her favorite. She loved The Monkees band and their silly television show. She also enjoyed Bonanza, Gomer Pyle and I Love Lucy. She loved sports, because her Dad did. Her favorite team was the Denver Broncos. She watched sports whenever she could so to be close to her dad, who was often traveling for his business. In 1986 she came to live with her Uncle Jim & Aunt Faye in Stillwater, Okla. Her parents had passed away leaving Doyllinn in their capable care. She participated in the annual Special Olympics there and excelled winning medals in swimming and diving. She was very proud of those medals. In 2013 she fell ill and was moved out of our home into The Lakes Care Center in the memory care unit. While there she made lots of friends and enjoyed all the great parties every year at Valentine’s Day, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The latter two were her favorite. She loved turkey and dressing and PUMPKIN PIE. When the Lakes called me to inform me that Doyllinn had peacefully passed away during her afternoon nap the administrator said that the entire staff was devastated. She was one of their very favorites because she was always happy, laughing and giggling. They said that the Angels are rejoicing in Heaven this day and welcome home their sister in Christ. I agree with them. She is with her heavenly family now. I know she is smiling down at us. We are happy for her long-awaited journey. She has taken up residence inside the sacred walls of Heaven. She is again young and free and beautiful with a brand-new pair of wings. I'm sure she has already taken them out for a spin. Farewell Doyllinn.
