Elizabeth Fern Schneider 81, passed away on December 13, 2018. She was born on January 3, 1937, in Wewoka, OK to Oscar and Elizabeth (Cloud) Schneider. She was the middle child of two sisters, Dorothy Jean and Janie Geraldine Schneider. Her family moved to Oklahoma some years later. Fern attended Crooked Oak Schools from which she graduated in 1955. Shortly after, she married Jon D. Gray and she began her own family. Fern had two children, Joni and David Gray who she raised alone after her husband’s passing in 1966. She worked for International Crystal for 12 years and then Tinker Air Force Base from which she retired. Fern enjoyed bowling with her mother and sister and as the years went by, she began bowling with her children, David and Joni. Fern loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren, Jon, Jeffery, and Jessica. She always tried to help them become strong people. She loved traveling very much. She was able to visit all 50 states with her son David and his wife. This was a great joy for her. After traveling to all 50 states, Fern began her Cruising Era with her family. Let us not forget the many hours of entertainment she loved at the casino when she was winning! Elizabeth Fern Schneider lived a long and full life just like she wanted to and she lived it well. She was a strong person which made it difficult when she became sick and old. Fern was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Jon D. Gray. Survivors include her children, Joni Henscheid and David Gray; grandchildren, Jon Gray, Jeff Gray, Jennifer Laguna, Jessica Henscheid and Allen Mooney; great-grandchildren, Bella Mooney and Jaycen Laguna; and sisters, Dorothy Roton and Jeri Glass. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Arlington Memory Gardens.
