Ellis Margaret Carlton

Ellis Margaret Carlton, 101, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Emerald Care Nursing Center in Midwest City, OK. Ellis was born on March 14, 1921 in Wynnewood, OK to her parents John & Margaret (Edwards) Dunkin.

Ellis worked at both the Central School in Oklahoma City and the Choctaw School in Choctaw, OK. Ellis was also a wonderful mother who raised 2 daughters along with her great and loving husband L.C. Carlton. Ellis enjoyed taking trips to Mississippi and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church.

Ellis is preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Carlton; her parents, John Henry Dunkin & Margaret (Edwards) Dunkin; son-in-law, Farrell Nelson; as well as 4 brothers and 9 sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Phylistis Nelson; daughter, Laquita McCoy & her husband James; as well as 5 grandchildren.

A visitation for Ellis will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2022 at Elmwood Cemetery, 1800 N. Choctaw Road, Choctaw, OK 73020.
