Elmon Duane "Bony" Berryman

Elmon Duane Berryman was born March 23rd 1934, and died May 27th 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents were Dale and Verna Berryman, his brothers, Jack and Loy, also his sisters Yvonne and Kay, along with his wife Verla and grandson Jake. He is survived by his brother Bob Berryman and sister Sherri Collins, his daughters, Dorene Stockton, Duana Williams and Barbara Mashore. He also leaves behind (6) Grandchildren and (7) Great-grandchildren.

Duane was born in Hominy Oklahoma, went to grade school at Keystone, and in 1943 the family moved to Terlton.

Duane’s first truck driving company was Thomas Motor Freight in Dallas before he joined the Army in February, 13th 1957. Duane got his GED while serving and after the Army he went to work at Hugh Breeding in Tulsa. He also drove for Greyhound Company. He later went to work at Trans-Con Trucking where he continued his career as a professional truck driver and hauled goods all over the United States. Many remember his CB handle was Diesel Dummy. He retired in 2014 at the age of 80.

Duane was a country boy at heart who loved fishing, hunting and sports. Everyone knows if OU or the Thunder were playing on TV, he was watching. He loved westerns and would watch John Wayne movies over and over. He also loved being with family, enjoying food and conversation.

He celebrated his 90th birthday this year with friends and family at Saint Simeon’s and enjoyed it very much. Duane was a simple man and was loved by all. His smile and generous spirit is what we will remember most about Duane. As we lay him to rest and say goodbye, we know he will be in our hearts forever.

His honorary pallbearers are: Darrell Stockton, Derrick Stockton, Justin Williams, Brett Mashore, Jeremiah Mashore, Dalen Stockton, Mathew Stockton and Andrew Stockton.

A visitation for Elmon will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery, Cemetery, Tuttle, OK 73089.
