

Ema (Lois) Sockwell, 76, of Oklahoma City, OK surrounded by family, went to be with the Lord August 30, 2014. Lois was born in Lufkin, TX to Maggie and Joel Walker. She married R.C. Sockwell in 1953 in Texas. She retired from Lucent Technologies in 1999. In 2003 she met the second love of her life, John Earls. Together they treasured caring for each other and traveling. She adored her family, and enjoyed crocheting, and cooking. She was a wonderful and loving partner, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her spouse, R.C. Sockwell, mother, Maggie Walker, father, Joel Walker, brothers, James Walker, Frank Walker, Lester Walker, Clovis Walker, and daughter Tonya Vannoy. She is survived by John Earls of the home, sisters Beth & Larry Gingery of North Ridgeville, OH and Pete & Bobby Shaw of Virginia Beach, VA, daughters Brenda Holland of Oklahoma City, OK, Rita Shaw of Edmond, OK, Raefie & Jim Duenow of Moore, OK, Michelle Silvas of Topping, VA and Leslie & Chad Sickler of Edmond, OK, sons Cecil & Alicia Sockwell of McLoud, OK, Art & Carol Sockwell of Bethany, OK, Billy & Marissa Sockwell of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jerry & Jennifer Sockwell of Houston, TX, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK, with interment following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
