Emiline Stella Peterson, 83, of Oklahoma City, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014. She was born August 18, 1931 in Freeland, Pennsylvania to Robert and Clara (Ashman) Faux. Emiline married the love of her life, Alvin Peterson and the two spent many, many wonderful years together. One of her favorite activities was traveling and camping with Alvin. Their niece and nephews have many happy memories of camping with the pair. Emiline enjoyed RVing, camping and going to pen pal picnics as she and Alvin made their way through every state in the US. She made many friends and had many pen pals from her travels. She was known as the “crazy one” and was always up for participating in plays or a game of cards. Emiline made everyone laugh and was sure to brighten everyone’s day. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafting of any kind, photography and reading. Emiline worked in a variety of fields throughout her lifetime, but enjoyed many years at ACOG before retiring. Emiline was a long time member of First Southern Baptist Church and when she was able she was active in Sunday School. She was always busy with one thing or another and was a multi-tasker before there was a word for it. Emiline will be most remembered by her family and friends for her hugs. She always had a warm hug for everyone. Emiline is survived by her niece, Ruth Gonzalez; nephews, William Hammons, Jim Hammons and Alvin Hammons; brother-in-law, Clinton Hammons and many grandnieces, grandnephews and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin, and her sister, Margaret Ruth Faux-Hammons. Memorial Services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, December 19, 2014 at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
