Rena Palin Spiers was born December 28, 1939 in Santorini, Greece. Her earliest years were filled with hardship; surviving the German and Italian occupation during World War II, and civil unrest during the following years. Rena was proud of her Greek heritage, and devoted to her faith in the Greek Orthodox Church.
She arrived in the United States in the early 1960's and eventually settled in Abilene, Texas. Here she met David Spiers, her devoted husband of the past 35 years. Rena was vivacious, tenacious, and she loved making new friends and seeing new places. She lived her life without fear or regret. She loved animals and rescued many abandoned pets during her life. Rena also held a place in her heart for those less fortunate than herself.
Rena is survived by her husband, Dave of Abilene and her daughter Sophia Palin, of Oklahoma City.
