Ernest (Ernie) Duane Farrah, Sr., 76, of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 8th, 2011 due to complications after a neck surgery on July 5th, 2011. Ernie was born on April 23, 1935, in Nash, Oklahoma to Earnest Leroy Farrah and Clella (Ethel) Onstot (Farrah) Coffelt. Ernie was saved at an early age in the Methodist Church of Oklahoma City, OK. Ernie lived a Christian life by his patience, compassion, and kindness towards others. Even after the surgery left him a quadriplegic, he continued to be loving and kind to others. Ernie was a very clever person, and he enjoyed pulling pranks. We think that was his number one goal to scare and tease people. Ernie graduated from Putnam City High School in 1953 where he played football, and was in theater. He enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard in 1952, and graduated with OCS Class #2 in 1958. He went to work for the Oklahoma Military Department full time in 1979, and entered active duty in November, 1981. Ernie received many awards and decorations during his time in service. Ernie retired from the National Guard in April, 1995. He also loved law enforcement where he worked for the Village Police Dept., Oklahoma Sheriff’s Department, Nicoma Park Police Department, and the US Marshal’s Service (CON AIR, 13 Years) and he retired from there in 2009. Ernie loved to hunt, fish, scuba dive, and be with family and friends. He will forever be in our hearts, and memories that we all shared with him. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles Farrah, Johnny Farrah, and Gary Farrah. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Libby) J. Farrah, sons Ernest D. Farrah, Jr. (Colleen) and Gary D. Farrah, Daughters Barbara P. Reeves (Phillip) and Jonnie K. Farrah, and step-daughter Jennifer Whisenhunt, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had many other friends and family members who loved him very much. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home at 2:00pm with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
