Eugene Russell Rudey

Gene Rudey, 87, of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on September 20, 2023. He was born on October 6, 1935, in Buffalo, NY. Gene, also known as Eugene Russell Rudey, was a Marine Corps veteran and served our country with honor.

Gene was a fun-loving guy who always had a joke ready to make people smile. He loved to set outside and drink a cold beer and just look at the green grass with his dog Holly. He had a kind heart and never had a bad thing to say about anyone, He enjoyed spending his time at the casinos, where he would have a great time. He was a huge fan of the Lakers and the Buffalo Bills.

In his professional life, Gene worked as a program analyst and cabinet maker. He was dedicated to his career and always gave his best effort.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Sheila Swenson, and his son, Gordon Rudey. He was a loving grandfather to Randy Grimes and Kevin Grimes, and a proud great-grandfather to Mikey Grimes, Danika Grimes, Vincent Grimes, Hunter Grimes and Isabella Ruiz. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Rudey, whom he was married to for 57 years.

Gene Rudey will be remembered for his sense of humor, his dedication to his country, and his loving nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
