

Faye Deane Hubbard, 84, passed away September 15, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born August 10, 1927 in Blocker, Oklahoma to Idus Drayton and Mattie Marie (Daniel) Davenport. Faye graduated Classen High School in 1945. She met James Hubbard on a blind date and married him on May 8, 1946. Faye was a member in the “Society of the Descendants of Washington’s Army at Valley Forge” and also the DAR. She was a loving mother and was active in the PTA, Cub Scouts and Blue Birds. Faye never missed any of her boys sporting events. She was an excellent seamstress and loved making beautiful clothes for her children. Jim and Faye were co-founders of “Surrender Ministry” in Stillwater where they ministered to college students and distressed families through Hillcrest Baptist Church for 6 years until moving back to Oklahoma City. Faye was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. Her home was always open and her hospitality abundant. She was known for her strength of faith and character. Faye always had a dog in her lap or close by. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Hubbard. Faye is survived by her son Terry Hubbard, son Bruce Hubbard and wife Kelly, daughter Janis Hubbard and husband Craig Combs, grandchildren Bryan Hubbard and wife Manisone, Lindsay Burnett & husband David, and Brandon Hubbard, four great grandsons and niece Doyllinn Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Donations may be made in Faye’s memory to The Meadows Center for Opportunity, 1000 S.
