

Ferman Curtis Davenport (Papa) was born January 12, 1923 in Indianola, Oklahoma, to Roy and Ethel Davenport, and peacefully passed on April 10, 2011. He married Beatrice Hodges on November 23, 1945 and moved to Oklahoma City where they raised their two sons. He was blessed with four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Proudly serving our country in the Army Air Corp. 13th Division Air Force, he was awarded the Korean Defense Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. In 1975 he retired from Tinker Air Force Base completing a 32 yr. career.
Curtis and Bea spent many years traveling the world and enjoying life. He was a member of many organizations: Myrtle Masonic Lodge #145; Scottish Rite, Guthrie; India Shrine Temple, OKC; and the American Legion.
Family was the most important thing to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Jimmy Dale Davenport and Woodrow Davenport, and wife Beatrice.
Survived by sons James C. Davenport and wife Alicia, David G. Davenport and wife Carol, grandchildren Jamicia Wylie and husband Justin, Amber Bea Davenport, Anna Wylie and husband Jayson, and David Davenport and wife Alysia, and great grandchildren Will Davenport, Sydnie Bea Wylie, Abby Davenport, and Blake Wylie.
Viewing will be at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home all day on Wednesday, April 13 with the family receiving guests from 6-8 p.m. Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the Little Chapel of Roses in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
